The Embassy of Denmark in Cairo is looking to recruit a new Trade Assistant to join our commercial team in the Danish Trade Council. The Danish Trade Council is the governmental export and investment organisation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. Trade Council Egypt (TC Egypt) has a mandate to assist Danish companies in expanding or initiating business activities in the Egyptian market. TC Egypt acts as consultants for Danish companies and offers a wide range of services throughout the companies export life cycle. The overall goal is to create value for Danish businesses and help them succeed at the Egyptian market.

The Danish Trade Council has more than 250 trade advisors working at more than 60 countries around the world. The Trade Council focuses on offering Danish companies individual advice on all issues important for their international activities and the Trade Council strives to be a highly professional and innovative organisation, which aims to secure the best possible conditions for the Danish industry in an increasingly globalised world.

Trade Assistant Tasks Description
The Embassy of Denmark in Egypt seeks a dynamic full-time Trade Assistant to join our existing trade council team. You will be a part of our commercial team, where you will work closely with our Trade Advisors under the supervision of the Head of Trade Council.
The Embassy of Denmark in Egypt seeks a dynamic full-time Trade Assistant to join our existing trade council team. You will be a part of our commercial team, where you will work closely with our Trade Advisors under the supervision of the Head of Trade Council.
As a Trade Assistant you will be assisting in day-to-day work, promoting the commercial interests of Danish companies, supporting these to access and develop business opportunities in the Egyptian market, updating data base for TC contacts and coordinating with other embassy sections in terms of trade related projects.
The position will give you a great opportunity to work within a range of different industries and build a strong base for you to specialize in certain industries or function as time progresses.
Your tasks will include
• Providing assistance to the TC team in all their promotional activities, market surveys, partner
searches, market analysis, arranging and participating in meeting programs.
• Assistance in communication with public and private sector fostering a close cooperation
with Egyptian ministries’ officers and authorities relevant for Danish business interest. Be
part of commercial projects and gradually develop own clients.
• Part of the team working on logistics related to Danish business club.
• Part of the communication team working on Trade Council Face book page and Twitter inputs.
• Preparing export promotion events in relation to trade exhibitions, seminars, conferences and
VIP visits. And any other assigned projects.

You will be offered responsibility and flexibility. The flexibility gives you opportunity to test and develop yourself by e.g. working in a variety of sectors and in a variety of business aspects.
Qualifications and Experience
• The Candidate must have strong interest in developing business opportunities on the
Egyptian market for Danish companies.
• Have 2-3 years of business experience and commercial knowledge.
• The candidate need to be dynamic, solution and quality oriented, and a good team player
• The candidate needs to have a relevant university degree – preferably business related.
• The candidate is bilingual in English and Arabic.
• The candidate is outgoing and able to make new contacts to external partners.
• The candidate is flexible and able to contribute on a broad range of the embassies tasks.
• Knowledge of the Danish business will be considered an asset, but not a precondition.

Salary & Compensation
The Embassy offer attractive and flexible working condition and a competitive salary package. The salary will be determined depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
